This seems to be for one specific distribution. The Linux kernels use a different
numbering schema. What distribution are you running?

This again looks like something that is specific to the distribution you are running.
XSane does not come with an "icon" - you are probably talking about a desktop icon
that is used to start XSane by clicking on it. This is not part of the standard
XSane package. Your Linux distribution installs this and you should talk to
whoever made the distribution.
