[sane-devel] Failed to open device 'hp:/dev/scanner': Error duringdevice I/O

Hi,

to see if the hp-backend can open the device you can run (x)scanimage
after an

export SANE_DEBUG_HP=17

The logs should show at which place the communication failed.
