I suggest throwing away the sane quickcam backend, and use the v4l
backend instead.  Fixing the v4l backend will probably be less work,
help more people and be a more generic solution for the future.

There is a known problem with the v4l backend when using two or more
(different?)  v4l devices.  It then detects two of the same, and
crashes when one try to use it.  Someone with two devices should give
it a try in the debugger, and give a proper bug report.
