AW: [sane-devel] Epson "Perfection 1640SU" compatability

Hi!
I bought this scanner one year ago, i scanned lots of pictures and I
didn't experience any problems. I connected the scanner via SCSI to my
computer, and it really works great! It's a fast scanner and also the
quality is superior, I know much worse results! I've not yet tested the
USB-port, but the scanner generally runs faster using the
SCSI-connector.
Concerning the label of the scanner, 1640su and 1640 are the same
scanners, and both, which are actually the same, work fine with xsane.

SANE folk,

	I'm getting ready to buy a scanner and want one that is
compatible with SANE.  I'm thinking of buying an Epson "Perfection
1649SU".  
	I see the Epson "Perfection 1640" listed as compatible with
SANE. 
Would I be correct in assuming that the "Perfection 1640SU" is pretty
much the same and thus also compatible?  If anyone knows of problems
with that scanner, please let me know.
