Does sane-find-scanner find your scanner now? Have a look at
plustek.conf and edit it, if necessary. Run any frontend. You don't
need the plustel module, that's for parport scanners only.

No. However, I'm not sure, if your scanner is already supported by
SANE 1.0.7. 1.0.8 should work.
