You said that your CD Burner is ATAPI - I can only guess, but probably you 
have ATAPI-SCSI emulation enabled in the kernel. This will shift the SCSI 
devices once the CD Burner is detected.

Both solutions should work for the snapscan backend, but adding "SCSI AGFA" 
is probably the safer way. Unfortunately I deleted it as default setting in 
the recent backend releases.
