If you're using the SANE which installs from the RedHat CD set, you may
wish to post your question to a Linux group. I saw a SANE RPM, but didn't
check what it actually installed. You might want to run 'rpm -q' and see
what files you actually got. That may get you started.

If the question is general, did you check the SANE documents for the
usability status of scanners you tried?
