if hotplug didn't load the scanner.o kernel module when you plugged it
in, you may need to load it. then you can `xscanimage plustek' to
start the gui scanner frontend. i think that is all it took for me.
ideally, you convince hotplug to load scanner.o for you.
also, at this point, i think you'll find that this scanner does not
produce clean images yet with sane. you get bands of color
distortions. someone is working on it from what i hear around here
though.
