Hi,

I have the problem: "scanimage" utility (sane-backends) doesn't work
with ADF.

Command used:
scanimage -v --batch=sheet%d.tif --batch-start=0 --batch-count=3 --mode
Gray
--resolution 600 --source Automatic Document Feeder -x 202 -y 203
--eject --auto-eject=on

When the command started, scanner begins to scan in Flatbed mode. It
scans 3 times and the program creates 3 TIF files. But it doesn't use
the paper in ADF.

However, if there is no paper in ADF, the program gives the messages:

Scanning 3 pages, incrementing by 1, numbering from 0
Scanning page 0
[epson] ADF: no paper
scanimage: sane_start: Invalid argument
scanimage: read 0 bytes in total
Scanned page 0. (scanner status = 4)

...and completes the work.

Hardware configuration:
Scanner Epson Expression 1640XL, model G650C.
Interface used - SCSI.
Automatic Document Feeder Epson, model EU-45 (A3 size).
Computer - Dell Workstation Precision 530, Dual Xeon 2,0 GHz, RAM 512
Mb.
SCSI adapter - Adaptec AVA 2906 PCI.

Software:
OS - Linux (RH 7.3), Kernel 2.4.18-3smp.
sane-backends-1.0.8-5
xsane-0.88-1
sane-frontends-1.0.8-2

Bye, Alexandre.
