Ok. But in my opinion, it's a bug to use the device name for
preferences saving anyway. E.g. with SCSI sg devices you neve know
which one is the scanner if you have other devices, e.g. CD writers.

By the way: XSane doesn't use sane.name but sane.vendor +sane.model
for saving.
