yes, you are right ... unfortunately .. :-)
So :
Somebody can tell me which low price scanner (USB or // port) is perfectely
compatible on Linux ?
works means that I only have to open "xsane" and the window appears to scan 
properly !

because this is the third scanner that cannot work on Linux :
-HP 1300
-Microtek 1800
-and now Umax Astraslim SE ...
