One valuable info to add to the .desc would be the scsi ids and usb ids. Besides
allowing for a scanner lookup, it can be used by distribution vendors to
identify scanners plugged. Both Mandrake and SuSE have made those list (more or
less by hand I guess) and they are outdated.
