As Gerard already pointed out, the version number looks wrong.

Can you also check the contents of /usr/local/lib/sane
I suspect that you also have some files in this directory, very likely 
with the version number 1.0.2

Sane has a problem if it's installed twice in different directories. Is 
it possible that you compiled
and installed an old version of Sane on your machine?
