I thank you for your prompt response and accurate assessment of the issue I
have been grappling with over recent times.

Your advice has been wonderful - after completing the required changes my
scanner came up first time!!

May you and all other sane group members - I wish you all the very best for
Christmas and New Year.

Looking forward to the continuation of sane-devel group mailings. Surprising
how much information is so readily provided by this group.
