Yes - in general all scanners support various fixed resolutions, which
can be set by settings some sorts of dividers, i.e. a 600dpi scanner in=20
general supports 100dpi (/6), 150dpi (/4), 300dpi (/2)...
The Plustek backend uses the next higher resolution to scan and then
scales down the picture to the user set resolution, i.e. 125dpi...
That's all.

There were some bugs in the scaling for the CIS based devices (LiDE30 etc=
=2E)
which should have been fixed so far.

Did I already asked for the SANE-version you're using? There have been
some trouble in the lamp setting code, but that should be history...
