Hello Ole.

1) as far as I know Iscan uses some enhancement routines that are not=20
published by epson.

2) When the preview of xsane takes more time then you probably have selec=
ted
a "preview oversampling factor" larger than 1.0, then xsane does scan wit=
h a=20
higher resolution.

3) I do not think that the iscan image really has a higher resolution
The automatic exposure/enhancement functions select different settings.
I think you can improve the scan with xsane when you do the enhancement
manually.

The Iscan image looks as if epson use a sharpen routine.
