[sane-devel] Trouble with hp5400

I've been trying all afternoon to get the 5400c recognized on my Suse 
8.0 system.

I've removed the older sane, installed the newest backend, followed the 
instructions included with the alpha hp driver and the few posts I could 
find searching these archives....

So basically I can get sane-find-scanner to see my scanner.  It reports 
that it may not support it and try scanimage -L

I've also gone through and modified my dll.conf,  hp.conf in the 
/usr/local/etc/sane.d directory.

None of this has worked.

The scan does work on my winxp box.

Can anyone offer any help.  Thanks.
