[sane-devel] Release of sane-backends 1.0.12

Hi everyone,

I'm pleased to announce the availability of sane-backends 1.0.12. See
the news entry on the SANE webserver:

Thanks to everyone for maintaining backends, creating new ones, fixing
bugs, commenting on bugs and misfeatures, and providing support on
this list. Special thanks to Oliver Rauch who takes care of the web
and ftp server.

The code freeze is over now. So go ahead and introduce new features :-)

New backends are also welcome.

I'll append the NEWS file for this release.
