[sane-devel] Hello & Visioneer Onetouch 4400 USB Scanner

Hi,

just joined the list because I use GNU/Linux and have one of the above scanners.

I've been playing around with SANE trying to get it to work with the Plustek
backend but had no joy.

So it looks like there's no option but to start hacking at something.  As I've
no programming experience of USB devices or scanners I consider myself eminently
qualified (not) but I have been writing software of various types for the past
30 years and have a fair bit of C/C++ and Unix/Linux experience under my belt
(obviously not enough or I wouldn't even be considering this :o) )

Before I start hassling manufacturers, etc, is anyone else writing a backend for
this device?
