Ouhm - I'm currently in a process of reorganzation quite huge code
fragments to support new scanner modeles (including duplex scanning). I
have not yet tested this Build with a ordinary device like the HP 74xx
... But I have one near my desk and can do so in the night ...

Openen by some other program - or the hpusbscsi kernel driver?
