In theory the HP74xx should already be supported for over an year now 
... Alas, it is nice to see that all my ongoing efforts (for new and 
other scanners) also improved the situation for your HP 74xxx ;-)

So all flatbed and ADF scaning works fine and transparency scanning is 
the only remaining problem?

Could you provide me with the log of a successful flatbed and for the 
error with transparency scans?
