Hi folks,

thanks to Allan, Henning, and Eddy I've managed to install sane on SuSE
8.1 for the Boeder Slimscan edition scanner, along with xsane.

I've configured it as per the man(ual)s and can get great scans as root
(sane-find-scanner, scanimage, xsane, and gimp with the xsane plugin).
However normal users couldn't do anything until I also set the attributes
of the USB firmware file (/usr/local/share/sane/gt68xx/*.usb) to 0666.

I don't remember seeing that in the manuals. Perhaps someone could add it
the next time they update this backend?

The mext problem I have is that I can't appear to access saned using
sanetwain, I was able to with my last scanner, so I'm wandering if this
might be a permission issue? Has anyone got any ideas?

Jim
