Hi,

i tried the lastest ( Version 1.0.13) sane binary packages on my Mac G4 with
an Adaptec 2906 Scsi card and the Microtek ScanMaker E6.

The suggested test scan with the command:
$ scanimage -d test:0 > test.pnm
works.

The command:
$ sane-find-scanner

# No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure
that
# you have loaded a SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter.

# No USB scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that
# you have loaded a driver for your USB host controller and have installed a
# kernel scanner module.

# Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports can't
be
# detected by this program.

# You may want to run this program as root to find all devices. Once you
# found the scanner devices, be sure to adjust access permissions as
# necessary.

doesn't find anything, which may be ok because the Mac has no /dev/scanner
device.

So i tried the next command:
$ scanimage -L
device `microtek:iokitscsi@<015909000000000f0137c50b>' is a Microtek
ScanMaker E6 flatbed scanner
device `microtek:iokitscsi@<01590b000000000e2c5655a3>' is a Microtek
ScanMaker E6 flatbed scanner
device `microtek:iokitscsi@<015893000000000e2bc9b882>' is a Microtek
ScanMaker E6 flatbed scanner

ScanMaker E6 flatbed scanner
device `microtek:iokitscsi@<01589d000000000e2aa2e3dc>' is a Microtek
ScanMaker E6 flatbed scanner
device `microtek:iokitscsi@<01589f000000000e2a0de2fe>' is a Microtek
ScanMaker E6 flatbed scanner

ScanMaker E6 flatbed scanner
device `microtek:iokitscsi@<015839000000000e28f1ee11>' is a Microtek
ScanMaker E6 flatbed scanner

Looks like there is a scanner detected, but why 8 times ?

An scanimage > test.pnm doesn't work, the scanner starts, but then the
process hangs. After killing the process, the mac sometimes hangs.

Any suggestions for me ?

Thanks in advance,
Stefan
