I have to admit that I have never seen such an effect until now. I
think the backend isn't able to create it because once the calibration
is done, it's fixed. So if it was buggy, all the lines would be too
dark or too light.

Do these stripes occur at the same position on every scan? Does the
motor move deifferently in thses areas?

I think you should test if it happens with Windows, too, so we can see
if it's a backend problem.
