I am sorry, I keep making that mistake. I am using the CanoScan LiDE 30 with the plustek backend.

"scanimage --version" reports:
scanimage (sane-backends) 1.0.11; backend version 1.0.11
"scanimage -L -d plustek:libusb:003:003" reports:
device `plustek:libusb:003:003' is a Canon N1240U/LiDE30 USB flatbed scanner
