These recent entries about embedded file version information are
intriguing.  Could it be as simple as downloading a more recent
version of the frimware from Epson?

I am away from my computer for the next day and a half - visiting my
sister and her husband - but I will take a look at my firmware file
when I get back home tomorrow night and see how it compares with the
embedded version information reported here.
