I can not reporduce this, and since libtool-1.5.20 is due out any day now,
I'd appreciate info on how to reproduce.

The decision was made not to do this for branch-1-5 because it is the stable
branch and the framework feature was unstable. It still is unstable, there
are major bugs in both branch-2-0 and HEAD related to inherited linker flags.
Anyway, please tell me how to reproduce your issues with 1.5.18.
