I'm having trouble getting scanning working with my Epson CX7800.
I'm running Debian linux with kernel 2.6.12.2.
First tried with the epson backend. Added
usb 0x4b8 0x081f
epson.conf. Then
# sane-find-scanner
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8 [EPSON], product=0x081f [USB2.0 MFP(Hi-Speed)]) at libusb:003:006
# scanimage -L
device `v4l:/dev/video0' is a Noname WinTV PVR 350 virtual device
device `epson:libusb:003:006' is a Epson Unknown model flatbed scanner
But
# scanimage -d epson:libusb:003:006
scanimage: sane_start: Operation not supported
(Debug output at http://jdc.math.uwo.ca/tmp/epson.debug )
I also tried the epkowa backend, installed using the rpm
iscan-1.17.0-1.c2.i386.rpm at
http://www.avasys.jp/english/linux_e/dl_spc.html:
# scanimage -d epkowa:libusb:003:006 > /tmp/scan
This has worked about 3 out of the 10 or 12 times I've tried it; most
of the time it gives:
# scanimage -d epkowa:libusb:003:006 > /tmp/scan
scanimage: sane_start: Error during device I/O
(Debug output at http://jdc.math.uwo.ca/tmp/epkowa.debug )
Let me know if there's any other information that would help debug
either of these issues.
Thanks,
Dan
