[sane-devel] CanoScan FS 2720U

Hello,

I have a CanoScan FS 2720U that I would like to write a SANE back end 
for. However, I don't quite know where to start. I know that I should 
first try to get the protocol specification from Canon, but how should I 
go about doing that? I assume I should write a letter to them, but to 
what department, and what should I say?

Specifically, what should I ask for? The "protocol specification" or 
something else?

PS- Has Canon ever been forthcoming about their protocols in the past? 
Do I have any chance that they will actually give me this information?
