[sane-devel] Install problem with fi-4120C2 under FreeBSD and OS X 10.4.2

I'm trying to get a new fi-4120C2 working with sane under FreeBSD 6.0-
RC1 or Mac OS X 10.4.2. Under BSD, scanimage -L recognizes the
scanner and outputs:
device `fujitsu:libusb:/dev/usb4:/dev/ugen0' is a FUJITSU fi-4120C2dj
scanner

but when I try to scan something, e.g. scanimage -v >test, I get:
scanimage: rounded value of br-x from 215 to 215.004
scanimage: rounded value of br-y from 297 to 296.994

then scanimage just sits there until I kill it. After that scanimage -
L (and sane-find-scanner) can't find the scanner until I turn it off
and on or unplug/plug the USB cable. Anyone know what could be going
on? I've grabbed all the latest BSD ports (sane-backends-1.0.16_1,
libusb-0.1.10a_1, etc.), but nothing changes from the previous version.

The only uncommented line in /usr/local/etc/sane.d/fujitsu.conf is:
usb 0x04c5 0x10ae
These are the numbers I get back from sane-find-scanner.

I get the same behavior when I hook the scanner up to my Mac running
OS X 10.4.2, and use the latest software from www.ellert.se (backend
1.0.16, libusb 0.1.11, maciconv 1.2, etc.). Also, this scanner works
fine using the vendor supplied software under Windows XP, so it
doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.
