"make install" does not overwrite existing config files. If you want
to remove everything before installing, run "make uninstall".

All the .conf files are in the backend directory of sane-backends.

Use

export SANE_DEBUG_DLL=255
export SANE_DEBUG_GENESYS=255
scanimage -L

to check for the reason of the missing detection.
