Hello,

I write this mail only to announce that I've registered the project to
create hp scanjet 3900 series (chipset Realtek RTS8822) backend at
sourceforge.

I've released a first alpha and very unstable version of an stand-alone
program to show current status of project. Basically program makes
preview scans with no calibration and generates and image in ppm format.

Despite of this project is GPL I prefer to release binary package until
application's code will be more stable and less uggly, so please, be
patient :)
