What is the output of 'scanimage -L' on oldpc? From what you say, it
should be 'gt68xx:/dev/usb/scanner0'.
The last two fields of scanimage device name needs to match output of
scanimage -L.
If they are the same, than you really have an error during I/O. Is the
scanner correctly working on oldpc. May it be a kernel/driver problem?
