[sane-devel] Debug scanner

Dear all Guru of Sane,
 
If I want to start to write a scanner driver, and what Integrated Development environment do I have to be prepared ? I have  gdb, kdeveloper, and I want to learn how to debug my scanner first. and also I want to make contributions to write a driver for scanner.  :) Hopefully I can make the first step by debug the scanner first. would any Guru can tell me how to debug the scanner ? Thank you.
