[sane-devel] Help with a frontend, plis

I'm trying to write a frontend for SANE to scan a part of a piece of
paper and determine its colour. The problem I've found is that while
the measures for top-x, top-y, bottom-x and bottom-y are in milimeters
(I can see it in the respective option descriptors) once I've set them
there are no visible changes in the scanned surface. Could anyone send
me a simple program that really works to get the idea of how works?
