i reinstalled sane-backends-1.0.16_2 from freebsd ports
i get:
[sanei_debug] Setting debug level of snapscan to 255.
[snapscan] sane_snapscan_init
[snapscan] sane_snapscan_init: Snapscan backend version 1.4.50
[snapscan] sane_snapscan_get_devices (0xbfbfdf88, 0)
[snapscan] sane_snapscan_exit
with no device available.
and after a fresh init of the scanner i get (with the i/o error message):
[sanei_debug] Setting debug level of snapscan to 255.
