[sane-devel] PSC 2350 detected by sane-find-scanner not by scanimage

Dear list,
I am having problems getting an HP PSC to work as a
scanner. Printing works, but the scanner is not
detected by "scanimage". The scanner IS detected by
sane-find-scanner. What could be the cause for this?
In the past I have been able to get a PSC scanner (on
a different system) working with ptal, but I believe
that this should not be necessary with hpaio, correct?
I removed all the entries from the dll.conf, except
for hpaio, below is some debugging information (and
some info on installed versions). It may very well be
that I am overlooking something stupid, but I have
tried it for some time and have no clue what could be
the cause for this. Any pointers are most welcome! I
upgraded to the latest version of sane, in the hopes
that that would help, but alas not.
I am most puzzled by the fact that one program seems
to be able to detect the scanner, whereas the other is
not, is there some different configuration for the
two?
With kind regards,
Timco Visser

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting
something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and
detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read
the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).
