[sane-devel] Problems to install a Mustek BearPaw 2448 TA Pro

I am new to this mailing list and have already sent my question once. However, 
it seems not to have arrived.

my question is:
the above scanner is in the config files as
0x055f 0x0409

in libsane.db 
and in mustek_usb.conf I have made the same entry.
also in /etc/udev/ruled.d/025_libsane.rules I can find my scanner with the 
correct Vendor and Product ID.

sane-find-scanner reports the same vendor and product ID, however claims it 
would be a HP USB-scanner.

I am running sane on a debian etch machine.

How can I get out of this situation and get my scanner running?
