[sane-devel] HP 2175 Will Not Scan

Sane recognized this printer and scanned flawlessly.

While working on another project, I added some additional repositories (I
don't recall which) and apparently they changed some lib file or something
similar that sane needs to recognize this printer.

Is there a simple way to fix other than a complete reinstall?

Where is the best site to download the latest sane?

I also have an Epson R1800 flat bed scanner and for it to operate properly,
sane must be downloaded as a tarball, so reinstalling sane with synaptic is
not an option.
