Of the backend?  Then I'd like to see some debugging information.  For
starters, when do you get the message?  Right at the start of the scan
or after part of the document has been scanned?  Is any image data
visible with xsane?  Does the same problem also occur when you use
scanimage?  What about when using iscan?
