Olaf, the above paragraph is absolutely correct, and you interpreted
the license backwards.
The SANE license (GPL + exception) was designed before the LGPL was
written; it's roughly equivalent to the LGPL in its intent.
This has been discussed on this list already, with Henning telling
just what I wrote.
