[sane-devel] Epson Perfection 2400 - conks out on desktop machine but works on laptop

you could try getting a debug log of epson2 in action:

SANE_DEBUG_EPSON2=255 scanimage 2>2400.log >/dev/null

then compress the 2400.log and send it to the list...
