Hi Stef,

here is what I did:

Download the original driver software from Plustek:
http://www.plustek.com/product/2400_plus.asp
Follow the "Download" link and get the file OpticSlim2400plus_V4101.zip.
unpack this file into a temporary directory:
unzip OpticSlim2400plus_V4101.zip
unshield x data1.cab
cp DRV_U_GT6816_71J/cis3R5B1.fw /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/
The unshield program can be installed in Gentoo with
emerge app-arch/unshield,
in Debian the command is
apt-get install unshield
Make sure that /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/cis3R5B1.fw is contained in your
/etc/sane.d/gt68xx.conf:
# Autodetect Plustek OpticSlim 2400 plus
usb 0x07b3 0x0454
model "OpticSlim 2400 Plus"
override "plustek-opticslim-2400"
vendor "Plustek"
firmware "/usr/share/sane/gt68xx/cis3R5B1.fw"
afe 0x20 0x02 0x22 0x03 0x1f 0x04
That'it! scanimage and xsane work fine now. Next I try to get the scanbuttond
working...
Regards & happy Xmas!
