My scripts are genesys gl84[12] and (possibly) gl843 specific, in that
it decodes the register output and prepares bulk transports for "easy"
reuse in c-arrays(it stuffs commas in between values).

Generally, the problem is with stuff that requires action depending on
the values read back from the scanner, and getting the timing critical
stuff right. Most of the time, one can get away with just replaying the
log, ignoring timestamps, and ignoring the values coming back. This does
not work f.E. for moving the scanning head back to home position(at
least if you are interested in knowing that the head reached that position).

I have seen a tool for usb log replay somewhere, but forgot the name.
