[sane-devel] HP Scanjet 4400c: A Friendly Reminder

Dear All,



There has been no reply to my email from July 20 about HP Scanjet 4400c (please find the email below). I would appreicate suggestions on how to get this
scanner working with SANE as it is currently sitting idle (works fine
in Windows XP).

Problem description: 
scanimage with a HP Scanjet 4400c produces a blank image (see links below). Scanner works fine on a Windows XP machine.

Setup:
Debain Lenny (the current Debian stable) on a P6 machine
libsane_1.0.20-5_i386.deb
libsane-dbg_1.0.20-5_i386.deb
libsane-dev_1.0.20-5_i386.deb
libsane-extras_1.0.20.1_i386.deb
libsane-extras-dbg_1.0.20.1_i386.deb
libsane-extras-dev_1.0.20.1_i386.deb
sane-utils_1.0.20-5_i386.deb

scanimage -L output: 
device `rts8891:libusb:002:005' is a Hewlett-Packard 4400c flatbed scanner

Would appreciate help in solving this.
