I can provide you working version of
sane-backends-1.0.18+kvs1025+kvs20xx+kvs70_40+kvs3105-v1.02.tar.bz2 (3 Mb)
There were reported several troubles with integration with the latest SANE
(we had started development when 1.0.18 was the latest version and just
added our drivers to the sources). We have no manpower to investigate for
special solution of these troubles.
Recently Allan shared with information several drivers can be used in the
latest stable release of SANE now.
There are four separate backends: for 1025C; for "second" series
(KV-S2026, KV-S2046, KV-S2028, KV-S2048, KV-S2025, KV-S2045); for models
KV-S4065CW, KV-S4065CL, KV-S4085CW, KV-S4085CL, KV-S7075C; and for 3105C.
One (or two) of them has a trouble to be built with the latest SANE but it
works with 1.0.18.

i have purchased the scanner hp scanjet g2410 . but it does not work on
linux ubuntu. when i open the xsane scanning program for starting the
scanner the message "no devices available " appear. pls help me
installing and to working this scanner on unbuntu.

Support for the G2410 is newer than the version of sane which ships
with Ubuntu. I think you would have to build sane-backends from source
to use it? Perhaps Stef can comment further.

I got a set of patches against an old version of sane from panasonic
russia which contain these backends. Unfortunately, panasonic russia
refused to do the integration work with the current release of sane,
and not all the code builds cleanly. So it's pretty far down my list
at the moment.
