[sane-devel] Ubuntu Saned Problem

Recently I posted a query with Subject:Network Settings requesting help with getting my 
network scanner to work using settings from a previously successful setup.

I am now using Ubuntu v8.04 Hardy Heron but have heard owing to permission settings that 
saned does not work with this version.

I would appreciate any information on this as it was only by chance I found reference to this 
on a search.
