[sane-devel] ADF problem on HP ScanJet 8270 (ERR: Scanner cover is open)

Well,
I'm definitely closer but I'm also stuck for now.
I'm looking for a way to set scanner options @init as I need to find a
way to initiate the ADF before scanning. I'm looking for some HP specs
but no luck so far.
If I return "SANE_STATUS_GOOD" from the source-code the scanner works
properly but it does not use the feeder, of course this does not help
that much but at least I don't get the "Error 15" any more so it's
easier to debug without resetting the scanner every time.
I have compared the data from a scan with ADF initiated via WinXP and
a failed scan with xsane.
The most interesting data I've found when comparing the 2 runs is:

If any developer can advise on how to set scanner options at init, i'd
really appreciate it.
(I've also searched at the code for other HP scanners to find a way to do it)
