[sane-devel] CanoScan N650U & Xubuntu

I'm new to Linux and so I am trying to find usable new software as well 
as figuring out what I'm doing in Xubuntu. I am not finding a 
graphics'scanning program I can readily use. Xsane looks like my best 
bet so far but I'm having serious problems with it.

First of all, it will only scan a 2.73 x 6.14 inch area, and I can't 
find a way to change this.

Secondly, I need an OCR program. If Xsane does OCR I haven't the 
slightest idea how to accomplish it.

Overall, I'm finding this program impossible to figure out, but I'll 
start here.
