[sane-devel] network scanning does not work (SOLVED)

I now found out, what was wrong. It was an issue with SuSEfirewall2, in 
/etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2 I had to set both

FW_ALLOW_INCOMING_HIGHPORTS_TCP

FW_ALLOW_INCOMING_HIGHPORTS_UDP

to "yes" on the server, now I can access the sane server and networked 
scanning works fine :-)
